Following record-breaking success in English, the Harry Potter: Full-Cast Audio Editions are going global. Pottermore Publishing and Audible have officially announced the expansion of the series into German and the production ambitions are extraordinary.

The announcement coincides with the release of the seventh and final English-language full-cast audiobook: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Full-Cast Edition).

As English listeners reach the end of the saga, German-speaking fans are just getting started.

The first German-language edition, Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen, will be released on November 10, 2026. The remaining six audiobooks will then follow on a monthly release schedule.

A production on an epic scale

This is no ordinary translation. The German Full-Cast Audio Editions are a full cultural and creative undertaking.

Like the English editions, the German production features Dolby Atmos sound design, stunning original scoring, and high-quality sound capture. The original music is composed by Nitin Sawhney, recorded at the renowned Lyndhurst Hall Studios in London.

A rich history of Harry Potter in german audio

German listeners have long had a deep connection to Harry Potter through audio. The series has been an Audible favourite since 2015, when Felix von Manteuffel’s narration was released, and again in 2016 with the 10th-anniversary editions narrated by Rufus Beck.

The new full-cast editions will sit alongside (not replace) these beloved classic recordings, which will continue to be available.
