London’s most famous shopping street is about to get a serious dose of wizarding magic. HBO Max and the New West End Company have announced a partnership that will bring the world of Harry Potter to Oxford Street for the 2026 Christmas season, turning the West End into a festive nod to Hogwarts.
A Landmark Christmas Partnership
The collaboration was unveiled on Wednesday and aims to turn Oxford Street into a celebration of one of the world’s best-loved stories. According to the partners, the program will offer Harry Potter-inspired attractions and festivities for shoppers, commuters, international tourists and fans throughout the holiday period.
The timing is deliberate. The event coincides with the Christmas launch of HBO’s new Harry Potter television series, whose first season is based on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and runs for eight episodes. It also marks the arrival of a major new store on the street.
A New Harry Potter Shop on Oxford Street
The Harry Potter Shop Oxford Street opens on November 4 and is billed as the largest official Harry Potter flagship store in the United Kingdom. Wizards, witches and Muggles alike are invited to explore it, and the partners say it will be a key part of the West End’s Hogwarts-inspired transformation this winter.
Harry Potter-Themed Christmas Lights
Oxford Street’s famous star-shaped Christmas lights will stay in place, but they will be joined by a series of illuminated designs created specifically for the occasion. These installations are meant to bring the Harry Potter universe to life above the street, adding a fresh visual highlight to one of the capital’s most photographed festive displays.
Dee Corsi, CEO of the New West End Company, described the partnership as a historic moment for the street. In her words, it will create an unforgettable Christmas experience, showcase the West End at its best, and offer a major opportunity for retailers as well as a magical moment for shoppers, visitors and fans.
