Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is coming back, and this time the competition is a house rivalry. Food Network has announced, exclusively via PEOPLE, that Season 3 arrives on Wednesday, November 4.
Familiar hosts, fresh judges
Twins James and Oliver Phelps, the Fred and George Weasley of the films, return as hosts. Two new Ministers of Baking join them as judges: pastry star Duff Goldman and Sarah Mountain.
Oliver Phelps said fans can expect showpieces that will have audiences spellbound. James added that the brothers feel lucky to host a tournament with some of the world’s best bakers and chefs, all while celebrating the anniversary of the film that started a global phenomenon.
House vs. house
The new season introduces a tournament-style format. Four teams of three each represent a Hogwarts house, and the winning house takes home the trophy plus a trip to Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter.
- Gryffindor: Andy Ortega (Yonkers, N.Y.), Angel Figueroa (Denver, Colo.) and Rui Mota (Lisbon, Portugal)
- Hufflepuff: Elizabeth Rowe (Dallas, Texas), Molly Robbins (Birmingham, U.K.) and Priya Winsor (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada)
- Ravenclaw: Caitlin Taylor (Bowie, Md.), Jujhar Mann (Surrey, B.C., Canada) and Kimberly Adams (Milwaukee, Wisc.)
- Slytherin: Christopher Teixeira (Chicago, Ill.), Hemu Basumatary (Katy, Texas) and Miko Uy (Astoria, N.Y.)
A tribute to the first film
This year’s episodes celebrate the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Philosopher’s Stone in the UK). In the two-hour premiere, bakers must create treats inspired by “memorable firsts” from the film and present them to the judges on the Quidditch Pitch. Each team then bakes a second creation inspired by its favorite spells.
Food Network confirmed the renewal in September, as part of its annual holiday lineup. The network has promised cakes of epic scale and artistry in even more famed locations that fans know and love.
Baking, the family way
In a 2025 interview with PEOPLE, James Phelps said viewers often tell him the show gets their families baking together, sometimes the same day or the day after an episode. One fan told him her kids bake with her because it’s a time when nobody is on their phone. He hopes families are making good memories and that the show encourages more of it.
