Two of the most cherished voices in the Wizarding World are reaching new ears. As of Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the legendary audiobook recordings of the Harry Potter series narrated by Stephen Fry and Jim Dale have expanded onto a wider range of subscription platforms, including Spotify, Audiobooks.com, Kobo and BookBeat.

The rollout, coordinated with retailers across English-speaking territories, marks one of the broadest distribution expansions these iconic recordings have seen since they first arrived on Audible back in 2015, a run that has since racked up billions of hours of listening time from fans revisiting Hogwarts again and again.

Two narrators, two very different journeys

Fry and Dale have long been the twin pillars of Harry Potter audio: Fry lending his warm, theatrical British delivery to editions released in the UK and beyond, and Dale bringing his Grammy-winning, character-voiced performances to North American listeners. Their recordings, first published in 1999, have introduced generations of fans to the series purely through sound, often standing as some readers’ very first entry point into the Wizarding World.

With this expansion, Fry’s narration becomes more widely available across English-speaking territories worldwide, while Dale’s performance becomes even more accessible specifically to listeners in North America.

“Listeners will be able to discover Jim Dale’s theatrical, dynamic performance or Stephen Fry’s warm, rich storytelling on their platform of choice, as these much-loved recordings continue to bring the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione to life.”

Where you can now listen

The recordings are rolling out across several major platforms as part of this expansion, giving fans more flexibility than ever in how they choose to experience the series.

Spotify’s rollout is notably the first time the Fry and Dale recordings have been available on the platform, arriving there through an agreement with Pottermore Publishing. On Spotify specifically, Fry’s narration is streaming for Premium subscribers across the U.S., Canada, the UK, the rest of Europe, Australia and New Zealand, while Dale’s version is available to North American listeners.
