Golden Trio at HBO Max Launch in London

The new actors playing Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in the HBO Harry Potter series appeared together for the first time. Indeed, at the launch event for the HBO Max streaming platform in the UK, Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton made a notable appearance.

A first red carpet

When the very first trailer for the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was released, it also marked the start of a great adventure for our trio. A first red carpet appearance is no small thing, but it won’t be the last! Given that the series is set to run for 10 years, we’ll be seeing them on plenty more red carpets.

But it is also with a touch of nostalgia that we discover these new actors, reminding us of the early days of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, now more than 25 years ago.

Launch of HBO Max

The event in London marked the launch of the app in the UK and Ireland. These are two countries where it wasn’t yet available, even though they are the birthplace of the Harry Potter series!

To mark the occasion, HBO has even brought forward the launch date of its series: from early 2027 to Christmas 2026. A treat for fans who weren’t expecting to see the first episode this year.

2026 is definitely set to be a big year for Potterheads, as not only is there a new series coming out, but it’s also the 25th anniversary of the original film. A film marathon is definitely in order to get ready to pass the torch to the next generation!
