Excitement is building around the upcoming Harry Potter series as several invited guests have already had the chance to step onto the set and experience some of the most iconic locations from the wizarding world firsthand. Early impressions reveal a production that is both faithful to the beloved universe and rich in new details that fans have never seen before.

A journey through magical sets

Among the highlights shared by visitors is the opportunity to explore the Hogwarts Express up close and even step inside. The attention to detail reportedly goes far beyond what was seen in the original films, with carefully crafted interiors that aim to bring the journey to Hogwarts to life in a more immersive way than ever before.

Guests also walked through Diagon Alley, which flows seamlessly into Gringotts Bank, Madam Malkin’s, and Ollivanders. The shops, signage, and atmosphere are said to feel more “lived-in,” giving the impression of a bustling magical marketplace rather than just a set.

Production designer Mara LePere-Schloop has approached the series with one guiding principle: connection.

First, there is the physical connection between locations. Hogwarts itself is being designed as a functioning space, where classrooms, dormitories, and common areas all link together logically. This allows scenes to unfold more naturally, reflecting the daily life of students moving through the castle.

Second, there is a connection to nature. Hogwarts is deeply rooted in its Scottish Highlands setting, with architecture, materials, and costumes inspired by local landscapes and traditions. From natural fabrics like Scottish wool to environmental details, the magical world feels grounded in reality.

New details and book accuracy

One of the most exciting takeaways from early set visits is the series’ commitment to staying true to the books. For example, it has already been confirmed that Peeves the Poltergeist will finally appear, a character notably absent from the original film adaptations.

Additionally, the creators seem eager to expand on small but memorable details from the novels and we will be able to experience other characters point of views. There are hints that certain moments will be given deeper explanations, such as the reason behind Ron’s mysterious mark on his nose during the Hogwarts Express journey (a detail that fans have long wondered about).

But also:

  • Hermione receiving her Hogwarts letter
  • A deeper look into Dumbledore’s past
  • The introduction of Nicolas and Perenelle Flamel
  • Full Pensieve memory sequences, shown in order
  • Classroom moments like Professor Binns’ History of Magic lectures with Ron struggling to stay awake
  • Gryffindor girls’ dormitory

What comes next

As more behind-the-scenes information emerges, fans can expect additional confirmations, surprises, and deeper insights into how this new series will reinterpret the story. For now, these early glimpses suggest a production that respects the source material while also enhancing it with modern storytelling techniques.
