For many Harry Potter fans, creativity has always been part of the magic, whether it’s crafting cosplay robes, sewing house banners, or designing themed home décor. Now, that creativity is getting a magical upgrade thanks to a new collaboration between BERNINA and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.

The two companies have officially unveiled the bernette 79 Harry Potter, a limited-edition sewing and embroidery machine designed specifically for fans who want to bring a little wizarding world inspiration into their craft rooms.

And if you enjoy making your own fandom projects, this might be one of the most exciting Harry Potter crafting releases I’ve seen in years.

A sewing machine inspired by the wizarding world

The bernette 79 Harry Potter marks the first product released as part of a broader partnership between BERNINA and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. The collaboration will expand across several creative categories, including embroidery collections, themed fabrics, and future sewing innovations.

The machine was co-designed by both companies to combine BERNINA’s sewing expertise with the magical aesthetic of the wizarding world. It features a sleek black body decorated with a delicate white illustration of Hogwarts, highlighted by a golden moon in the background.

What makes the bernette 79 Harry Potter special?

Beyond its themed design, the machine comes with an impressive set of features that appeal to both hobbyists and experienced sewists.

Key features include:

  • 500 built-in stitches
  • 5 exclusive Harry Potter decorative stitches
  • 260 embroidery motifs, including 42 Harry Potter designs
  • Large 260 × 160 mm embroidery area
  • Color touchscreen for editing and combining motifs

This means that you can personalize everything from robes and scarves to bags, quilts, and home décor without needing additional design software. The possibilities are nearly endless!

A new creative era

While the wizarding world has long inspired collectibles, apparel, and themed products, this collaboration focuses on something slightly different: empowering fans to create their own magic.

With BERNINA’s sister companies, such as Benartex and OESD, also involved in the partnership, the project will eventually expand beyond the sewing machine itself. Future releases are expected to include:

  • Harry Potter fabric collections
  • Premium embroidery design libraries
  • New creative tools for sewing and quilting projects

For the crafting community, this opens the door to a whole new range of wizarding world-inspired creations.

Choose your magic: two versions available

The bernette 79 Harry Potter is available in two different versions, giving makers the option to choose the setup that best fits their creative ambitions.

The bernette 79 Harry Potter LE, priced at $2,997, includes the full magical package: 500 stitches (including five exclusive Harry Potter decorative stitches), more than 250 embroidery designs with 42 wizarding world motifs, and an impressive 260 × 160 mm embroidery area. It also comes with useful extras such as three embroidery hoops, ten sewing feet, an extension table, and ten additional exclusive Harry Potter embroidery designs.

For those who want to go even further with customization, the bernette 79 Harry Potter LE with Software version, available for $3,197, includes everything from the standard model plus the bernette Embroidery Software, allowing users to design and edit their own embroidery creations with even greater flexibility.

Where to find it

The bernette 79 Harry Potter sewing and embroidery machine is currently rolling out through authorized BERNINA local dealers and is currently only available in the US. Because it’s a limited-edition release, availability may vary depending on region and retailer.
